Sanjay Shah is the founder and principal of Visionary Ventures, LLC.
Sanjay has more than 20 years of experience bridging R&D and commercial functions to build payer-driven global value propositions for products at all stages of the life cycle and across disease states and therapeutic areas.
Sanjay specializes in global pharmaceutical pricing, reimbursement and market access. He has worked with global, regional and country-specific teams on development and implementation of global pricing and reimbursement strategies, disciplined Six Sigma country-level execution and lifecycle value management. He has developed innovative market access capabilities and helped shape the external environment to focus on the value of pharmaceutical innovation.
Prior to founding Visionary Ventures, Sanjay served in key leadership roles in the Life Science industry. He was worldwide global head of pricing and market access for Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceuticals Group of Companies, and also the vice president of market access for Sanofi. Throughout his career, he has negotiated with payers in the United States, Europe, other developed countries and key emerging markets to gain vital first hand insights (“insights from the trenches”) to guide his clients. Sanjay is a certified Six Sigma black belt focused on excellence in executing pricing and customer contracting strategies.
Sanjay received his MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers University.
Peter Lauper, PhD
Senior Executive Consultant, Visionary Ventures, LLC
Peter Lauper is a senior executive consultant with Visionary Ventures, LLC. He is also a senior associate director at the London School of Economics (LSE) Enterprise.
Peter has more than 40 years of experience with leading biopharma firms in Europe, the United States and key emerging markets in building and managing value over the life cycle continuum.
Peter has conceived, built and led the pharmaceutical industry‘s premier health economics and value management capabilities. He has mentored hundreds of health economists who now serve in government and industry positions around the globe. Prior to collaborating with Visionary Ventures, Peter was the worldwide vice president for health economics, pricing, reimbursement and market access at Johnson & Johnson (J&J). He was also a member of the Johnson & Johnson Worldwide Biopharmaceutical Management Board. While at J&J, he built and led a progressive health economics and pricing practice while pioneering a shift in focus from cost to value.
Peter received his PhD in economics from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, and his MSc in economics from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
